William Thompson

William “Bim” James Thompson, 76, of Carlisle died, Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at HealthSouth Regional Specialty Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
Born August 30, 1935 in Carlisle, a son of the late William J. & Mary Lu Moore Thompson.
He was a graduate of Carlisle High School, Class of 1955. William was a lifelong resident of Carlisle and a member of Allison United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Carlisle Senior Center, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 1299, Carlisle, the American Legion Post 101, Carlisle and the White Circle Club, Carlisle. He was a US Marine Corps veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Betty Thompson of Carlisle; two brothers, Kenneth D. Thompson of Pittsburgh and Robert M. Thompson of Colorado Spring, CO and one sister-in-law, Kathryn Durham of Carlisle. Also, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
