Virginia G. Broadnax

May 17, 1930 — August 5, 2023

Virginia Gould Broadnax, 93, of Carlisle, PA, transitioned from this life on Saturday, August 5, 2023, while surrounded by family at Forest Park Nursing & Rehabilitation.

Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Classie (Hooper) Gould.

After graduating with a degree in Nursing, she continued her academic studies by pursuing an advanced degree. She worked as a medical / surgical registered nurse at Robert Wood Johnson University & Perth Amboy General Hospitals.

She was married to Cecil H. Broadnax, Sr. for 75 years. Through this union, she went on to have 3 children, Valerie White, Dr. Vanessa Broadnax by whom she was predeceased, & Dr. Cecil Broadnax, Jr. She was blessed with a wonderful son-in-law Robert and daughter in law Alyse, as well as many loving grandchildren, including Dr. Cindy Moore, Louis Brown, Robert White 3rd, Cecil Broadnax 3rd, Randall White, Lauren Kingrey, and Virginia Diggs; and 9 great grandchildren including Cecilia, Camille, Cecil 4th, Avery, Isabella, Campbell, Brynlee, Cameron, Lochlan, Cali, and Elizabeth.

Following her nursing career, she went on to teach modeling at Barbizon Beauty School and subsequently quenched her entrepreneurial spirit by opening Ginny’s Boutique and providing New York fashion to her suburban community. She was an avid gardener who grew and canned all that was grown, which enabled her to become an excellent cook who without advance notice, quite often whipped up delicious meals for anyone who stopped to visit. She will be sorely missed and remembered fondly by everyone.

Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
