Valetta M. Miller

Valetta M. Miller, 85, of Carlisle, died Thursday, December 5, 2013 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Born April 23, 1928 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Warren K. and Bertha Alice Herman Wickard.
She retired from the Carlisle Tire and Wheel Corporation. She enjoyed gardening, reading (especially her Bible) and spending time with her large family.
Surviving are her husband of sixty-six years, Richard E. Miller of Carlisle; one son, Richard E. Miller, Jr. (and wife, Bonnie) of Carlisle; two daughters, Joyce A. Doebler (and husband, Steve) of Gardners and Wanda S. Durf (and husband, Robert) of Mt. Holly Springs; two sisters, Freda Miller (and husband, Clifford) of Carlisle and Cora Paulus of Mechanicsburg; eight grandchildren, Wayne Jones, Lisa Dupert, Tammy Eshenour, Ty Jones, Ashley Nace , Todd Miller, Austin and Megan Durf; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lavern, Blain, and Clarence Wickard and two sisters, Florence Starr and Irene Orner.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December, 12, 2013 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Dean H. Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Waggoners United Methodist Church Cemetery, Longs Gap Road, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the funeral home.
