Ugur Yucelt

Dr. Ugur Yucelt, of Hummelstown, PA went to be with God peacefully on October 28th 2023 at his home at the age of 85. Born on December 15, 1937 in Bursa, Turkey, he was the son of the late Nazim and Zisan Yucelt.

Ugur earned a bachelors degree in Economics in 1959 from Istanbul University, Masters of Business Administration in 1970 from New York University and in 1978, a graduate of The New School of Business with a Doctorate of Philosophy.

Ugur was passionate about his role as a professor at The Pennsylvania State University and had a great love for his profession. Prior to retirement, Ugur served as a Professor of Marketing at Penn State University's School of Business Administration. Earlier in his career, he also taught at Salem State College, in Salem, MA; and Norwich University in Northfield, VT. He also wrote and co-wrote many academic publications over his 40 plus year career in higher education.

Ugur also loved traveling the world with his family. He spent one-year sabbaticals in Oslo, Norway and Ifran, Morocco. Ugur enjoyed running and has completed over 10 half-marathons. He was also a passionate supporter of his beloved Fenerbahce soccer team.

However, his greatest love was for his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Suna Kuli; his 2 sons, Baris Yucelt and wife Maureen Yucelt, of San Marcos, CA; son Onur Yucelt and wife Jamie Yucelt, of Schwenksville, PA; and 5 grandchildren Alex, Berck, Aaron, Lyla and Layla. Ugur was predeceased by a sister Mihrunur and brother Coskun.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
