Thelma R. Fegley, 87, of Carlisle, PA, passed away surrounded by her loving family at home on October 21st, 2025.

Thelma was born in Franklin Township, PA, on August 24th, 1938, to the late Luther and Hazel (Ernest) Rhodes.

Thelma is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Morton Fegley, her sons, Daniel J Fegley (Mary) of Mechanicsburg and Paul M. Fegley (Denise) of Carlisle, her daughter, Sara Fegley (Brad Hiester) of Mechanicsburg, her sister, Gloria Holderman, of Bloomsburg, her sister-in-law, Rosemary Rhodes, of Mechanicsburg, her 4 grandchildren, Morton Hummer, Robert Hummer, James Fegley (Rosie), and Chelsea (Roberts) Brown (Keith) and her 3 great grandchildren, Daisy Mae Fegley, Madelynn Grace Fegley and Casey Brown

Thelma is preceded in death by her parents and her 5 brothers, Earl, Chester, Doyle, Larry, and Paul.

Thelma graduated from Catawissa High School in 1956. She married Mort, on June 9, 1956. She moved with her husband to Kansas for his Air Force service and worked in banking. When he was discharged, they moved back to Pennsylvania, living in Dillsburg, then Mechanicsburg, before retiring to their mountain home in Carlisle. For twenty-five years, she devoted herself to raising her children at home. Thelma then went on to reenter the workforce, taking a part-time position at Kinney Shoe. She managed bookkeeping duties for two decades at her husband's business, Mechanicsburg Construction, and worked in the service dept. for Bobby Rahal Honda. Earlier in life, Thelma taught Sunday School classes at St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Thelma enjoyed gardening, cooking, and canning. She was a very creative woman and a talented seamstress, even making her own wedding dress. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, Morton, and their family. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling in an RV to bluegrass music festivals and taking cruises. She was known for her selfless nature and her extreme devotion to her friends and family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15th, 2025, at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W Trindle Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held directly following the visitation.
