Stanley R. Carpenter

January 25, 1955 — October 1, 2023

Stanley R. Carpenter, age 68, died Sunday, October 1, 2023 at UPMC Carlisle.

Born in Carlisle, he was the son of the late Richard and Evelyn (Moyer) Carpenter and the husband of 39 years to Angela (Henning) Carpenter.

Stanley loved his vintage cars. He was a long-time member of Susquehanna Valley Vintage Sports Car Club, Harrisburg, was an active member and spokesman for 9 years for Meeting of the Marques, Carlisle as well as other car clubs. He and Angie were also members of the CMA, Christian Motorcycle Association.

Stanley was involved in photography, winning many awards, was an active bowler, roller skater, volleyball player, DJ and was a published author in cycling magazines. He and Angie also enjoyed taking vacations on the motorcycle together. Some of the places they traveled to were: Nova Scotia, upper Michigan, Key West, Tennessee mountains, Maine and New England states, to name a few.

He also loved walking his dogs, Marley and Pixie, and enjoyed grilling and cooking.

Stanley was mentioned as being a jokester and a great husband.

He was also involved in Carlisle Evangelical Free Church, helping start the Mt. Holly Campus and was involved at Crossroads Community Church, Mechanicsburg.

In addition to his wife and two dogs, he is survived by his sister: Deborah Bostwick, her husband, Brett, of New Cumberland; his nieces: Kaitlin Bostwick, Paris Henning, Piper Henning and nephews: Jason Brinkley, his wife, Treina, Brady Rivers; his brother-in-law: Mike Henning, his wife, Melissa, of Mechanicsburg; sisters-in-law: Jayne Brinkley, of Camp Hill, Desire Henning-Dudley, her husband, Keith, of King of Prussia as well as his in-laws: Barry and Faye Henning, of Mechanicsburg. He was preceded in death by his brother, Randall Carpenter. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation from 11 AM to 1 PM, followed by his Celebration of Life Service at 1 PM Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Crossroads Community Church, 1425 S. Market Street, Mechanicsburg. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
