Samuel J. Heffelfinger, Sr.

Samuel J. Heffelfinger, Sr., 87, of Mechanicsburg, died Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at his residence.

Born in Mechanicsburg, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Carrie (Weaver) Heffelfinger and the husband of 66 years to Arthena (Giles) Heffelfinger.

Sam worked as a car detailer and loved to detail his car, even at home.

He enjoyed fishing with his son and grandson and in his younger years enjoyed hunting. Sam also loved going to Haar’s Auction in Dillsburg and going to local fire company festivals.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Dena (Dale) Luce, of York, Samuel J. (Laura) Heffelfinger, Jr., of Mechanicsburg, Lisa Crouse, of New Oxford; his grandchildren: Susan (Gregory), Joseph (BJ) and Kyle; his great grandchildren: Leah and Josiah as well as his great great grandchildren: Carson, Harper and Milana.

Sam was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Heffelfinger, Jr. and his identical twin brother, George Heffelfinger.

Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
