Ruby F. Calaman

Ruby F. Calaman, 88, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at UPMC Carlisle Hospital.

She was born August 2, 1937 in Upper Frankford Township, Cumberland County to the late Leroy “Jim” and Geraldine “Peg” (Hoover) Raudabaugh.

Ruby was a great cook and loved working in the garden. She always kept an immaculate house, despite having three boys. And when it came to canning, Ruby would can anything you could stuff in the jar.

Her jobs included time at GS Electric, You Wanna Wash Frocks dress factory, Howard Johnson, Piezo and Musselmans. She also cleaned houses and was a caretaker for elderly people.

In her golden years, Ruby enjoyed coloring and attempted crocheting, which resulted in many “hideous” items (according to her kids).

She is survived by her boys: Glenn Gayman (wife, Andrea), of Carlisle, Ritchie Gayman (husband, Dennis Lettich), of Carlisle, Edward Landon (husband, Jeff Leritz), of Kansas; her grandchildren: Gwenn, Parker and Kolby; her great grandchildren: Nathaniel and Ashe as well as her siblings: Judy Bubb, James Raudabaugh, Danny Raudabaugh and Mark Raudabaugh.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Calaman, her brother, Floyd “Buck” Raudabaugh and her sister, Ruth Barrick.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service 1:30 pm Monday, December 22, 2025 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where the family will greet guests after 1:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle.

The family kindly requests no flowers.
