Rodney Leonard Garner, 77, formally of Gardners, passed on May 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family (Pam, Ryan, and Connie).
The following was written by Rodney when he realized he was slowing down:
I was born July 10, 1948 to the late Charles E. Garner and Edith Walters Garner.
I am survived by 3 sons - Rodney Jr., Randall, and Ryan. Grandsons - Devon, Dakota, and Isaiah. I am also survived by brother James.
I had brothers precede me in death: Paul, Kenneth, Charles, Wilmer, Roger, and David.
Also preceded in death by sisters: Christine Bupp, Darlene Parks and Betty Arnsberger.
I was employed by the Borough of Carlisle for 42 years, and truly cared for the guys that worked for/with me. I was a member of the Union Fire Company, The Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Carlisle. My favorite things to do were hunting, bass fishing, being in the mountains, camping and cutting wood.
I want to thank my faithful caregivers Pam Lebo and Connie Lebo. They are my angels. Thank you to my “family” at the Residence Inn, Marriott as well as Chaplain Alan and the entire HCP Lady Bug Team.
A funeral service for Rodney will be held Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11am at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Rd. Carlisle, PA 17013. There will be a viewing from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery.
