Robert “Bill” Webber, 91, passed away at his home surrounded by the family he loved and cherished. After a brief illness, he spent his final days receiving comfort and care from his devoted family and hospice caregivers.
Born in Dexter City, Ohio, on July 27, 1935, Bill was the son of the late Clifford Webber and Bernice (Taylor) Webber.
He graduated from Muskingum College with a degree in Mathematics. He worked for US Steel and Firestone before moving his family to Carlisle in 1970 to be the owner/operator of Dauphin Oil Company. He taught his family the importance of hard work and during most of that time worked seven days a week. Family remained his top priority, and he finally chose to retire in 1995 so he could spend more time with his grandchildren.
Those who had the privilege to know him knew a kind, gentle and considerate man, and he was known as “Pap” by many. His family members were the center of his world, and his devotion to them was endless. He was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was married to his wife, Becky, for 63 years and together they built a life full of love, laughter and precious memories. He lovingly cared for his wife for many years until her death in 2020.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Wendy Hoy (Tim), son, Bill Webber (Lisa), six grandchildren, Leah Andrews (Will), Dan Hoy (Kelliann), Becky Hoy (Brendan), Katie Webber (Arthur), Pete Hoy (Laura), Billy Webber (Maggie), five great-grandchildren, Parker, Sullivan, and Cooper Andrews, Josephine Hoy, Malcolm Fitzpatrick, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his sister, Jeanne Houck.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill's honor to Residential Hospice Foundation, 5440 Corporate Drive, Suite 300, Troy MI 48098
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
