Ricky Neil Darhower

Ricky Neil Darhower, 69, of Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 14, 2026. Born October 13, 1956, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Ricky was the son of the late George and Charlene Darhower.

 A member of the Boiling Springs High School Class of 1975, Ricky was an accomplished wrestler during his school years, earning awards for the sport. Wrestling remained a passion of his throughout his life. Ricky spent many years on the road as a cross-country truck driver, traveling countless miles across the country. But some of his greatest adventures happened much closer to home and behind the wheel of a race car. Ricky raced at both Williams Grove and Silver Spring Speedways and was a talented and competitive driver. Among his racing accomplishments was a second-place finish in the Silver Spring 100-lap race.

 Fishing was another lifelong love for Ricky. It began in his hometown of Boiling Springs and followed him throughout his life. From the waters around home and the Susquehanna River to fishing in the ocean, Ricky was happiest with a fishing rod nearby and another place to cast a line. 

Above all, Ricky leaves behind his family and the memories they shared with him. He is survived by his children, Mandy Darhower and her partner, Mark Peckham; Hannah Darhower; Joshua Darhower and his wife, Erin; and Mariah Darhower and her fiancé, Max Wolfgang. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, JaKaden, Dexter, Bentley, Noah, Ashton, and Dayton.

 Ricky lived a life filled with movement, competition, adventure, and a youthful spirit that stayed with him throughout the years. Whether he was behind the wheel of a truck or race car, watching wrestling, or spending a day fishing, Ricky followed the things that brought him joy. His children and grandchildren will carry with them the stories, memories, and pieces of him that made Ricky uniquely their dad and grandfather.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 10:00am-11:00am, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00am at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W Trindle Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013.
