Rachael Blessing

Rachael Blessing, 80, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at her residence with her family by her side.

Born in York, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Jane (Frye) Kennedy and the beloved wife of James Blessing for 52 years.

Rachael dedicated 28 years of service to Cumberland County Mapping before retiring.

She was deeply family-oriented, always putting her loved ones first. Her greatest joy came from attending family sporting events, where she was a constant and enthusiastic presence. When not cheering on her family, she found happiness in gardening and exercising by push mowing the lawn.

Rachael is survived by her husband, James: her daughter, Patricia Carns, her husband, Richard, of Carlisle, her son: Keith Blessing, his wife, Pamela, of Newville; four grandchildren: Alicia Barnouski, her husband, Sam, Tyler Carns, his wife, Elizabeth, Lindsay Carns, her fiance, Marcus Marpoe, Kenneth Blessing and eight great grandchildren: Drew Graver-Barnouski, Landon Barnouski, Henry Barnouski, Colton Barnouski, Gavin Marpoe, Theo Carns, Caleb Marpoe and Ellie Carns. She was preceded in death by her sister: Mary Kennedy and her brother: Juan Kennedy.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service at 7 PM Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where the family will greet guests after 5 PM prior to the service. Interment will be held privately at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
