Phillip “Fortyâ€Â Alan Atwood, 65, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at his home.
Born August 21, 1946 in Woodsville, NH, he was a son of Jordan Fred Atwood of West Rutland, VT and the late Josephine (Henderson) Forcucci.
He was a self employed over the road trucker who worked for Hemp Brothers, Inc, John W. Gleim, Jr. Excavation, and John F. Walter Excavating, Inc. He was a US Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #477, Carlisle.
Surviving in addition to his father are his daughter, Deb Trepanier of West Rutland, VT; brothers and sisters, Sandra (Clyde) Greeley of Low Gap, NC, Jordan “Butchâ€Â (Linda) Atwood of Proctor, VT, Elaine (Ivan) Duval of Rutland, VT and Leon (Sheri) Atwood of Proctor, VT and companion, Bonnie Myers of Carlisle. He was preceded in death by a son, Stacie Atwood.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2012 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
