Peggy Lou Weakland

Peggy L. Weakland, 72, of Carlisle, passed away on June 24, 2025 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born June 16, 1953 in Carlisle to the late Vincent and Edith (Walker) Mahoney. 

A 1971, graduate of Carlisle High School, she went on to complete her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Education from Penn State Harrisburg. She began her rewarding career in the Harrisburg Area School District and later taught for many years and retired from the Carlisle Area School District. 

Peggy cherished her family, friends, and summers at her beach house and spending time on Assateague Island. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and Philadelphia Eagles fan. 

Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Scott M Weakland of Carlisle; two daughters, Sarah (Travis) Walker, and Laura Weakland, and stepson, Mark Weakland. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren Kayla, Paige, Hadlee, Bryce, Oliver, Archer and newest, great granddaughter, Milan.

 In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Vincent Mahoney II and Donald Harris.

 A catholic mass will be held at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, 87 Marsh Drive, Carlisle, PA 17015, on July 11, 2025 at 11:00am. 

Following the mass there will be a reception at Mayapple, 1 Mayapple Drive, Carlisle, PA 17015, from 12:30pm- 3:30pm.

All are welcome to attend both the mass and reception, or just the reception.
