Naomi H. Lamason

Naomi H. Lamason, 97, of Carlisle, passed away on January 10, 2026.

Born in Mechanicsburg, PA, on November 14, 1928, Naomi is the daughter of the late John and Evelyn (Walters) Hess.

Naomi is survived by her son, Gary Lamason (Tina), son, Michael Lamason (Gayle), daughter, Sue Lewellen (Merrie), grandchildren, Michelle Kyle, Kathi Succa (Tom), David Lamason (Amanda), Tracy White (Brian), Beverly Sanchez, Amanda Snyder (David), Crystal Dupert, sister, Jackie Black (Sam), brother, John Hess (Elizabeth), 13 great-granddaughters, 9 great-grandsons, 2 great-great-granddaughters, 1 great-great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews.

Naomi is preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Sharon Williams, sister, Betty Wilson, sister, Iris Hess, sister, Nancy Finney, sister, Joyce Mumper, and 3 great-grandsons.

Naomi graduated from Boiling Springs High School in the class of 1946. She played in the band throughout high school. In her earlier years, she enjoyed bowling on several different leagues. 

She taught Sunday school and bible school for about 20 years. Naomi was devout in her faith as a Christian, as she was a member of the Wellspring Wesleyan Church. She was a part of the women's group in the church as well. 

Naomi worked at the Carlisle Shoe Factory for 20 years, as well as McCoy Electronics for 5 years. She ultimately retired in 1992 from the Book of the Month Club in Mechanicsburg, PA. 

Naomi enjoyed spending time with her family and attending family gatherings. She was known for her love of helping others, especially those in her community, church, and family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m., at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W Trindle Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, 1921 Ritner Hwy, Carlisle, PA 17013.
