Myrna Jean Barefoot 91, passed away at UPMC Carlisle on September 25, 2024.
She was born on Monday February 27, 1933, in Long Branch, Pennsylvania to the late Charles Robert and the late Hazel Marie (Whigham) Cox.
Myrna graduated from the California Teachers College and later graduated with her master’s degree from Penn State University. She was a retired teacher and Speech and Language Pathologist in the Carlisle Area School District. She was a member of the social sorority Beta Sigma Phi and a member of the First United Church of Christ.
She is survived by her two children: daughter Amy L. (husband Jon) Stenvall of Kenmore, WA., son Tad Barefoot of Carlisle, PA., two grandchildren: Gunnar Stenvall of Kenmore, WA., and Kelsey (husband Todd) Raynes of Spokane, WA., two great grandchildren: Felisity and James Raynes, and a sister Lois Gillespie of Bethlehem, PA.
She was preceded in death by her husband James J. Barefoot.
