Mildred D. Martin

Mildred D. Martin, 85, of Carlisle, died Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Thornwald Home.

Born in Bloserville, she was the daughter of the late John and Esther (Weigle) Dunbar and the wife of the late Richard Martin, who passed in 1985.

Mildred enjoyed sewing and gardening and was an active member of Wesleyan Church of the Cross, Carlisle. But the thing that brought Mildred the most joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her son: Irvin “Bill” Martin, his wife, Penny; her daughter: Lisa Trolinger, her companion, Wayne Zeigler; her grandchildren: Nichole Post, her husband, David, Jason Trolinger, his wife, Amy, Amber Monroe, her husband, Anthony, Brooke Trolinger; her great grandchildren: Quintin, Xavier, Andrew and Maleki, all of Carlisle as well as her sister: Mary Billman, of Newville.

Mildred was preceded in death by her siblings: John, Parker, William, Jim and Shirley.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service 11:00 am Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where Rev. Dan Mikesell will officiate. The family will greet friends after 10:00 am prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Letort Cemetery.
