Mildred M. Bannon

Mildred “Millie” M. Bannon, 77, of Carlisle, passed away May 20, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born October 13, 1948, in Hoboken, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Mildred (Talbot) Smith. Millie graduated high school in 1966 and was employed by the Navy Depo in Mechanicsburg as an administrative professional for over 25 years.

Millie is survived by: her daughters; Lori Bannon and Stacie Bannon (Will); grandchildren; Shaylyn Bannon and Oscar McAllister; one brother, Michael Smith; brother-in-law, Larry Bannon and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Millie is preceded in death by: her husband, Glen Bannon; siblings; Howard “Sonny,” William “Raymond,” Lawrence “Larry,” Mary, and Elizabeth “Betty.”

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests making a memorial contribution to: Oscar McAllister’s education fund, as she aspired to see him graduate, Shay Bannon’s education fund, or Fresenius Kidney Care, Cumberland County.

A viewing for Millie will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Hoffman Funeral and Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Rd. Carlisle, PA 17013, from 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 29, 2026, at St. Patrick Shrine Church, 152 E. Pomfret St. Carlisle, PA 17013 at 11am. Interment will immediately follow at St. Patrick Cemetery .
