With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Stoltenburg, a devoted mother, caregiver, and cherished friend, who left this world on June 4, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on September 24, 1947, in Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, to Benjamin K and Delphia M (Martin) Baker. Mary was a beacon of compassion and strength, touching the lives of those around her with her unwavering dedication and kindness.
Mary spent 15 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Cumberland County Nursing Home, and later several years at Forest Park Nursing Home, where her hard work and commitment to her patients made a lasting impression. Her passion for helping others was evident in every interaction, a testament to her caring heart. In her personal life, Mary cherished her time spent with her four beloved children: Frederick Stoltenburg, Janice Lowman, Troy Stoltenburg, and Michael Stoltenburg. She took great joy in her monthly lunch dates with friends and had a profound appreciation for wildlife, finding peace and comfort in the natural world around her.
In our sorrow, we also celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who dedicated herself to others and embraced life with grace and warmth. Mary Elizabeth Stoltenburg will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frederick B. Stoltenburg; her parents, Benjamin K. and Margaret Baker, her sister Joyce Baker Minnich grandson, Konnor Lowman and brother Marshal A Baker.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children, Frederick (Teri) Stoltenburg of Camp Hill, PA, Janice (Shad) Lowman of Columbia, PA, Troy (Jennifer) Stoltenburg and Michael (Carrie) Stoltenburg all of Newville, PA; grandchildren, Philip, Brandon, Taylor, Eliza, Carisa, Mariah, Caitlyn, and Makayla; 10 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Mary's life will be celebrated with a graveside service at Letort Cemetery on June 12, 2025, at 11:00 am. We invite all who knew and loved Mary to join us in honoring her memory, sharing stories, and celebrating the indelible mark she left on our hearts.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
