Mary L. Bream, 88, of Newville, passed away on February 21, 2026.
Born on February 17th, 1938, in Lumber City, she was the daughter of the late John Russell Bubb Sr. and Dora Jessie Hafer.
Mary did not graduate from high school. She went to school until 9th grade. She later got her GED and became a CNA. She worked for 27 years at Thornwald Nursing Home in Carlisle until she retired in 2009.
Mary loved gardening, baking, reading, and playing Parcheesi. She loved being outside enjoying nature.
She is survived by her husband Roger Bream of 42 years. In addition to 4 daughters, Donna Kessler (Garry Sr), Cathy Shahan, Bonnie Stuckey (Gregg), and Tammy Miller (Timothy Sr), one son, Steve Morris (Linda), along with Jacob (Danny) Bream (Andrea), Marylyn Allen. Along with more than 35 grandchildren, Mary stopped counting grandchildren when she reached over 35 and many great grandchildren.
Mary was a middle child of 10 siblings. Bernice Carolous (Robert), Samuel Bubb (Mary), Pauline Carolus (Leroy), Barbara Marston (Claude), John Bubb Jr. (Christine), Judy Martin (Greg), William Bubb Sr. (Deborah), Linda Crum (Robert), Shirley Willhide (Gary). Only sibling surviving is Judy Martin.
In addition to her parents and nine siblings, she is preceded in death by her first husband Chester L. Morris Jr., daughter Deborah Campbell, and 2 son-in laws Wayne Campbell, and John Shahan.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013. Burial will take place at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, 1921 Ritner Hwy, Carlisle, PA 17013 following the service.
