Marcia Toms

Marcia Alice Bowman Toms, 65, of Carlisle, passed away November 2, 2025, at her home.

Born August 16, 1960, in Newville, she was the daughter of the late Fred W. and M. Phyllis (Baker) Bowman. She was a graduate of Big Spring High School and then received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from York College. She was most recently employed at Capital Blue Cross as a Quality Assurance Analyst. She also spent time performing audits and claims review for Parente Randolph, LLC. She started her career as a surgical floor staff nurse at Community General Osteopathic Hospital.

Marcia is survived by: her daughters; Courtnie Danielle Toms and Lindsey Catherine Toms; brother, David Bowman (Richard) and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by: her husband, Jay Allen Toms; son, Jonathan E. Toms; sister; Mindy Schlacter & brother William “Bill” Bowman.

She was a loving pet parent of 2 Boston Terriers, Bella & Buttons. She enjoyed traveling with her husband across the country and spending time with her family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 12pm at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Rd. Carlisle, PA 17013. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1pm with Rev. Tony Lorenz officiating. Interment will be at Lincoln Cemetery, 948 Lincoln Way E, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
