M. Grace Miller

M. Grace Miller, age 102, of Carlisle, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 in Chapel Pointe at Carlisle.
She was born July 20, 1914 in Concord, PA (Franklin County) to the late Frank W. and Cora M. (Widney) Harris and was the widow of Dwight E. Miller who passed in 1970.
Grace enjoyed cooking, sewing, bead crafting, quilting, canning and doing volunteer work at the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Co. and the Dickinson Township Board of Elections. She was an auxiliary member of the Cumberland Farmer’s Association, a member of the Mt. Holly Springs Golden Agers and a member of Barnitz United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Women’s Group.
She is survived by: her son, Merle D. (and wife Sara) Miller of Carlisle; two daughters, Elaine C. (and husband Peter) Bull of San Francisco, CA and Jonne M. Miller of Carlisle; sister-in-law, Dorothy Harris of Newburg; William March of Carlisle, who was just like a son; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Grace was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert W. Miller, six brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Matthew D. Plant and Rev. Walter L. Frankenberry officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
