Louise Makowski

Louise Makowski, age 94, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on June 27, 2024 at home. Louise was born on October 24,1929 in Montclair, NJ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Duke Makowski and 9 siblings.

Louise was a secretary and office manager for many years and her last job was as a school crossing guard coordinator.

She enjoyed cooking meals for friends and others in need. She spent many summers working in the kitchen at Camp Susque - a place that holds a special place in the hearts of her entire family.

She enjoyed spending time with family and providing vacations at the beach and taking cruises.

Her family was precious to her. She was blessed with five children: Lynn Wanaselja (James), Daniel Makowski (Barbara), Karen Schmalz, Paul Makowski (Jamie) and Peter Makowski (Denise). She has 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She loved her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ and walked with Him for most of her life. She loved attending church, weekly prayer meeting, and Bible studies. She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church in Montville, New Jersey before moving to Carlisle, Pennsylvania and joining Grace Baptist Church.

The funeral will be held on Monday, July 1 at 11 am at Grace Baptist Church, 777 W. North Street, Carlisle with Pastor Simon O'Mahony officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Livestream will be available by visiting GraceBaptistCarlisle.org. A lunch reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Private interment will follow at Restland Memorial in East Hanover, New Jersey.
