Lloyd E. Sheaffer

Lloyd E. Sheaffer, age 78, passed away on April 13, 2026 at UPMC Carlisle. He lived his whole life in Carlisle, PA. Survivors include his wife, Caroline (Smith) Sheaffer, his children Laura (Bill) Wills of Enola and Scott (Lena) Sheaffer of Port Matilda, along with grandchildren Noah Wills and Lacey and Mason Sheaffer.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Wilmer and Martha (Gutshall) Sheaffer. Surviving are his siblings Barbara Garman of St. Mary’s, GA, Judy Snyder of Carlisle, and Lynn Sheaffer, Mechanicsburg.

Lloyd earned degrees at Dickinson College and Western Maryland College. He taught high school English and Humanities at Cumberland Valley High School for 33 years. Faith was central to his entire life. He taught an adult Bible study for 62 years in addition to serving in numerous other capacities at St. Stephen Lutheran Church.

A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in New Kingstown, PA on Saturday, April 18 at 11 a.m. A visitation will precede the service from 9-11 a.m., also at St. Stephen.
