LaRue G. Wagner

LaRue G. Wagner, 83, of Carlisle, passed away February 2, 2026, at her home.

Born March 6, 1942, in Newville, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Anna Mae (Brandt) Geer and the wife of the late Roger E. Wagner, whom she shared many years of marriage with.

A talented baker, LaRue was employed practicing her craft at several locations locally including Cumberland Valley High School, Konhaus Farms Market, and Giant Foods.

LaRue was very active in the community. She was a longtime member of Silver Spring Ambulance & Rescue Association, serving as a driver & EMT, New Kingstown Fire Company 33, where she served as Treasurer among other titles and duties, New Kingstown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles #1299, and assisted at her local election location.

When she wasn’t baking, she enjoyed camping, traveling, and crocheting.

She is survived by her children: Brian Armstrong (Debra) of Enola and Wendy Armstrong of Mechanicsburg; Grandchildren, Heather Armstrong (Sayre) and Amanda Graf (Matthew); great-grandchildren, Haley, Michael, Brianna, and Ryan. LaRue also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by; son, Michael W. Armstrong, sister, Eleanor Vyanna Mae Bailey, and brother, Jeremiah Geer.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Trinity Global Methodist Church, 4 W. Main St., New Kingstown, PA 17050 at 11am. There will be a viewing from 9am until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Homeland Hospice.
