Kenneth Douglas Walsh, 85, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully at home on September 15, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born in Staten Island, New York, Ken graduated from Boyden High School before attending Moravian College. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Fred T. Berry Destroyer. Following his service, he built a successful career with Texaco, retiring in 1997.
Ken was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice. He is survived by his devoted wife, Alice Walsh; his children, Jennifer (David) Maxwell, Douglas (Ashley) Walsh, Michael (Lee) McQuillen and Emma (Douglas) Rynard; grandchildren, Kelsie (Evan), Emily, Lanie, Colin and Megan (Austin); great-grandchildren, Layna, Jax and Savannah as well as his brother, Phil (Nancy) Walsh.
Ken’s life was rich with passions and joys. He loved his time at Smith Mountain Lake, creating lasting memories with family and friends. He was an avid traveler, an accomplished tennis player and enjoyed golf as well as many competitive nights of pinochle. A man of faith, he was a dedicated member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
His life was a testament to faith, perseverance and love for family. His parting words reflect the strength of his character and belief: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7.
Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2025 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 201 West Louther Street, Carlisle, where the family will greet guests after 10:00 a.m.
