John C. Kauffman

John Clinton Kauffman, 90, of Middletown, died Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Middletown Home.

Born in Hershey, he was the son of the late Charles and Evelyn (Staub) Kauffman and the husband of 62 years to Judith (Varney) Kauffman.

John proudly served in the US Army.

He loved the outdoors and being in nature. As a young man, John walked part of the Appalachian Trail. He and Judy enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and riding the railroad to the Grand Canyon.

John enjoyed reading and was constantly learning. He also loved laughter and purposely looked for the simple things in life to enjoy.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his daughter: Debra Lyn Schock (Dave), of Carlisle, Michelle Dell Delp (Charles), of Carlisle, Kimberly Ann Zimmerman (Randal), of Ickesburg, Richard Lee Kauffman (Desiray), of Elliottsburg; his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, as well as his sister: Ruth Hoffer, of Middletown.

John was preceded in death by his brothers: Charlie and Lee.

Relatives and friends are invited to his celebration of life service 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle where the family will greet guests after 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
