JoAnne C. Potter

JoAnne Crowley Potter, of Carlisle, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the age of 94.

Born Jan. 1, 1932, at Harrisburg Hospital, JoAnne was the daughter of Joseph and Reba (Uhler) Crowley. JoAnne graduated John Harris HS in 1949 and Harrisburg Institute of Medical Arts in 1951 before being employed as a secretary for Carlisle High School until her retirement.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Carlisle.

Surviving are her four children, Shelby Gutshall (Skip), Dawn Crimmins (Leon), Douglas Potter (Caroline), and Gerald Potter (Maureen); one sister, Maureen Kreider (Mark); six grandchildren, Lauren, Carly, Brett, Zachary, Caitlin, and Ana;one niece, Joanna; seven great grandchildren; and two great nieces.

JoAnne is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Potter; brother, Joseph Crowley Jr. (Sharon); and two grandchildren, Patrick and Melissa.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Rd.,Carlisle, PA 17013, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will immediately follow at Westminster Cemetery, 1144 Newville Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013.

Friends may call Monday, July 20, 2026, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
