Joann A. Parsons

Joann A Parsons, 63, of Carlisle passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026. She was the wife of Jim Parsons. Born in Flint, MI, she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Linda (Giles) Alberts. She graduated from Clio Area High School in 1982. Joann had multiple careers over the years. She started in retail and then spent 20 years as a school bus driver for Easton Area School District. A job that she loved and was very proud of. After retiring she then started her new career in logistics starting with Book of the Month and Amazon before retiring from the Defense Logistics Agency (U.S. Govt)

Anyone who knew, or even met Joann was immediately impressed by her amazingly outgoing personality. She was never afraid to take chances and was the first to try something new. She didn't hesitate to move to multiple states and form new friendships and lasting relationships. Among her favorite things was her planting her garden and flower beds, and of course loving her feline friends Eddie and LaRue.

Along with her husband Jim, Joann is survived by her daughter, Rebekah Battice of Huntersville, NC, son, Craig Summerfield and his wife, Chrystle, of Bangor, PA, her mother-in-law, Brenda Minick of Ridgeley, WV and former husband, Robert Ferrigno (Manuel) of Easton, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Maya, Brayden, Meadow, Connor, Clint and Maxwell, siblings, Patricia Normile, Tina Wildfong, and James Alberts, all of Michigan.

Joann was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sophia.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where Pastor Jake Waybright will officiate. The family will receive guests after 12:00 Noon before the service. Interment will be held at a later date.
