Carlisle

Jeff Lunsford, 60, of Carlisle died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.

Born and raised in Alliance, Ohio, he was the son of the late John W. Lunsford and Nelle L. (Dean) Lunsford.

He was a loving husband of 30 years to Lucy Sgrignoli and the loving father of their two sons, Nicholas of Carlisle and Mitchell of Pittsburgh.

Jeff graduated from the University of Akron in 1986. He was employed at DNV (the former Stoner Associates) in Mechanicsburg, PA where he worked as a Software Developer for 37 years.

Jeff was very active and enjoyed hiking, biking, skeet shooting, running, racquetball, and disc golf. He loved the outdoors, and especially enjoyed visiting national parks with his family.

He had been involved for many years with Middlesex Youth Baseball Association, as both a coach and as the Treasurer. Overall, Jeff coached youth baseball for 10 years. Known as “Mr. Hustle” when he played baseball in high school, Jeff continued preaching this philosophy as a coach. Trying your best was his only rule for players.

In addition to his wife and sons, Jeff is also survived by two brothers, Dr. John W. Lunsford, Jr.  (wife, Nancy) of Hanover, and James Lunsford (and wife, Mary Alice) of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

Jeff was a regular blood donor throughout his life, having donated 10 gallons of blood in total. Jeff was also an organ donor and after his passing his donation will help save additional lives.

A great dad, husband, and friend. Loyal to family and dedicated to his job. He will be greatly missed.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life later this spring, time and date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 North 3rd Street Philadelphia, PA 19123 or at www.donors1.org/give
