Jeffrey Heishman

Jeffrey L. Heishman, age 74, of Carlisle PA passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025.

Jeff was born February 5th, 1951, in Carlisle PA to the late Lynn C. Heishman and Dorothy H. Byers-Hoffman. Jeff is a graduate of Carlisle Highschool, class of 1969. He continued his education at Shippensburg University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Governmental Administration and Master of Science in Public Administration.

Jeff led a successful career at the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs as a Deputy Executive Vice President/Director of Membership and Programs and retired in May of 2019. During these years he had been admired by many Pennsylvania elected officials and members of borough councils and staff. Jeff’s achievements and roles come from his love of local government and community. After retirement, he continued to dedicate his time to the community by working for Carlisle events as a security guard and working part-time at the Cumberland County Courthouse as a tipstaff for Judge Masland and Judge Guido.

Jeff also spent his time dedicating himself to leadership organizations. He was a member of The Order of DeMolay early in his life. He then joined the Masonic Temple and achieved Worshipful Master at the Carlisle Lodge #260 in 1988. As a past master, Jeff was a proud member of the Masons for over 50 years.

Jeff is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Maribeth Heishman; son Eric Heishman and his wife Megan; his daughters, Terin Pazich and husband Dan, and Lydia Frohm and husband Drew. He was a proud grandfather to Kaylee, Ava, Sophia, Jase, Vera, and Logan, who brought him endless joy. Jeff is also survived by his devoted sisters, Sherry Noone and husband Rob, and Tammy Jordan and husband Chris, and many nieces and nephews and their children.

When Jeff wasn’t dedicating himself to his community or family, he enjoyed hobbies such as bowling, playing golf, and reading. He was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Peyton Manning following the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos. He also enjoyed attending Carlisle sporting and cheering on the Thundering Herd.

A visitation will be held on October 7th, 2025, from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m., followed by a service at 1 p.m. at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carlisle Masonic Lodge #260 in Jeff’s honor.
