James Edward Potts

James Edward Potts, 92, of Carlisle, passed away at home on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. 

Born on March 21, 1934, James is the son of the late Edward Parker Potts and Edith Mae (Calaman) Potts.

James is now reunited with his loving wife of 67 years, Joyce Ann Potts, who passed away four years prior. James and Joyce married on December 4, 1955, and raised two daughters together.

James had a passion for landscaping. He also loved spending time with his family. Many mornings you could find him at McDonald's drinking coffee with the boys. Devoted to his faith, James was also a longtime member of the Plainfield Church of God.

James is survived by his daughters, Linda Potts and Judy Sterling (Ronald), brother, Dale Faught, and grandson, Jacob Clay Sterling (Ariana Vazquez.)

James is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joyce, an infant son, Ryan, three brothers, Glenn Faught, Lee Faught, and Robert Faught, and a sister, Mary Butler.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 10:00am-11:00am, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00am, at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W Trindle Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Westminster Cemetery, 1159 Newville Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013. Pastor Ed Rosenberry will be officiating.
