James A. McGough

James A. McGough, 77, of Etters, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born December 12, 1945, in Carlisle, PA to the late Oscar and Esther Smith McGough.

Those who knew James enjoyed his cooking and baking. He was also an avid hunter and fisher who especially loved spending time with his family.

James was the loving husband of the late Pearl Marie Duncan McGough and a brother of the late Ray McGough.

Surviving James are two daughters, Tina Miller (husband Eddie) of Etters; and Tracy McGough with whom James lived. Sisters Betty Miller, Mary Bricker and Carol Uhler survive him along with three grandchildren, Amanda Thompson (husband Brian); Rachel Mowry (husband Chris); and Austin Sheller. James also enjoyed his six great-grandchildren, Olivia; Charlotte; Elizabeth; Henry; Carson; and Isabelle.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle with the Rev. Bradley Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in James’ memory to Gentiva Hospice, 205 Grandview Ave. #304, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
