Jacquelyn A. “Jackie” Grecek, 57, of Newville, passed away on Sunday June 26, 2022, at UPMC West Shore.
She was born November 17, 1964, in Altoona to Theodore J. (wife Linda) Szuhaj Jr. of Jersey Shore and RoseAnn (husband Gene) Crum of Homosassa, FL.
Jackie had a personality that was larger than life and lived each day to its fullest. In 1984 she graduated from Mt. Aloysius College. Jackie was a nurse since her graduation and was very proud of her work. She loved cooking, especially when it was for friends and family she was hosting. Jackie was always happy when she was riding her custom Harley Davidson or when she was singing. She was a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan. Jackie was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1299 both in Carlisle.
In addition to her parents, Jackie is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Gerald “Gerry” Grecek of Newville; three sisters, Christine Archey (significant other Bill Armstrong) of Homosassa, FL, Danelle (husband David) Raptosh of Enola, and Georgette (husband Charles) Serenko of Cape Coral, FL; one brother, Joseph Shaw; two half sisters, Nadia (husband Greg) Hall of Penns Creek and Shelly Szuhaj of Williamsport; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her three fur babies.
A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013 with Father Joseph Raptosh as celebrant. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jackie to the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, 7790 Grayson Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
