Jacqueline Mae Weary, 96, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, October 3, 2026.
Born in Carlisle, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Goldie (Weigel) Shearer and the wife of 58 years to the late Richard Weary, who passed away in 2009.
Jacqueline attended Carlisle Area School District. Her first job was at the shoe factory in town. She worked for many years for South Middleton School District then went to work for the Intermediate Unit.
She attended Middlesex United Methodist Church for 77 years and was active in the womens group and taught Sunday School for 60 years.
In her younger years, Jacqueline loved to bowl and was active with many ladies bowling leagues. She was an avid snowmobiler and she and Richard were members of Keystone Snowgoers Club.
In her later years she enjoyed walking at the Carlisle Pointe Mall.
Jacqueline is survived by her son: Gregory A. Weary, his wife, Sherrie; her grandchildren: Nathan Weary, his wife, Deborah, Miranda Weary, her husband, Jason; her five great grandchildren: Samantha, Dylan, Austin, Brandon and Katelyn; her four great great grandchildren: Jackson and Ivy Weary and Aria and Miley Zinn as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Robert Shearer and Joyce Reese.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at Middlesex United Methodist Church, 118 N. Middlesex Road, Carlisle, where the family will greet guests after 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jacqueline’s name may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
