Isabel C. Masland, 97, of Lemoyne, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025

Born in Harrisburg, PA on 4/16/28, she was the daughter of Donald & Isabel (Ryder) Carpenter.

She is survived by daughter Carol Masland Gleeson (Mark), daughter-in-law Beth Goodyear Masland, grandchildren Christopher (Kerry), and Kathryn Gleeson, Darby Masland (John Rim) and Danielle Parris (Taylor), great-granddaughters Emilia Parris and Kaia Gleeson, and her beloved cat, Buddy. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Janet Deckert, first husband Daniel Masland, second husband Donald Gelbaugh, her daughter, Leslie Cay Masland and son, John Carpenter Masland.

Isabel held a variety of jobs in her long career. She was a director of the Girl Scouts of America, the Director of Christian Education at Camp Hill Presbyterian Church where she also created the very successful youth program – Christians in Service (CiS). She then transitioned to the Executive Director of Girls Club of Harrisburg. Isabel always loved the stock market and had received her bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hood College so in 1984 she embarked on her final career and became a Certified Financial Planner with W.H Newbold’s (she was one of the first 1000 CFPs in the country- there are now over 240,000). She eventually opened her own Financial Planning Firm, Masland and Barrick in Camp Hill with long-time business partner, Stacey Barrick. Together they built a strong, successful business serving people looking for sound financial planning advice and management.

Isabel had an avid love of seashells which tied in perfectly with her love of travel. She traveled all over the world collecting her seashells. The majority of her incredible collection can be seen at The Oaks Museum at Messiah College in Mechanicsburg, PA. She passed her travel passion on to her grandchildren who have enjoyed numerous trips with her and have continued to embrace her legacy of travel and learning new cultures.

Isabel was a force for building community connectedness, supporting libraries, education, third world endeavors and more. She belonged to the Altrusa Club and enjoyed creating The Jokesters -a group of women that would travel to Nursing homes to spread laughter to the residents.
