Harry William "Bill" Casey

Harry William “Bill” Casey, 96, of Lakeland, FL, passed away peacefully in the company of loving family on January 25, 2026. He was the son of Harry William Casey and Thelma (Tait) Casey.

Bill was born in Rumford Maine, and resided in Rochester, NY and Wilmington, DE, before retiring to Lakeland.

After graduating high school, Bill served in the Army at Carlisle Barracks, where he met the love of his life, Doris Kelly, a native of Carlisle, PA. They married in 1952 and were happily married until Doris passed away in 2015 at the age of 86. Shortly after his time in the Army, Bill started working at DuPont in Rochester, NY. While working, he went to night school and received his bachelor’s degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. Bill had a long and successful career as a scientist in the area of photo science at DuPont, where he retired in the early 90’s.

Bill was a devoted husband and father, and enjoyed many hobbies, including computers, reading, and traveling in his motorhome. Other than family, his greatest passion was aviation. He was a pilot and aircraft owner, and traveled to airshows frequently, including Oshkosh in Wisconsin and Sun n’ Fun in Florida, where he and Doris were long time volunteers.

Bill is survived by his son, Michael, of Soddy Daisy, TN. He was proceeded in death by his sister Shirley (Casey) Barker, and brothers Hance and Daniel.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday February 19, 2026, at Hoffman Funeral and Cremation 2020 W. Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013. with Pastor Richard Reese officiating.   A viewing will be held from 10:30am until the time of the service.  Burial will follow in Westminster Cemetery.
