It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gino Vincent Frank, beloved husband, son, brother, teacher, and coach, who departed this life on November 4, 2025, in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 21, 1972, in Rochester, Pennsylvania.
A proud graduate of Bucknell University, Gino was known for his fun-loving spirit, bold personality, and unwavering passion for the sport of wrestling. He was also deeply dedicated to education, especially in subjects he was passionate about including Egyptian and Roman history, wrestling and geography. Over more than 20 years of teaching, he inspired countless students – whether in the classroom or in the weight room – with his lessons, humor, standards, and belief in personal growth and discipline.
Gino’s wrestling accomplishments were quite remarkable. He earned a silver medal at the 2008 Greco-Roman Masters National Championship, was a two-time All-Pennsylvania wrestler, and achieved numerous additional titles over the course of his competitive career. As a coach for more than 30 years, he became nationally recognized as an elite Greco-Roman coach and a passionate advocate for the sport. Through his club, Modern Day Gladiators, he trained and mentored athletes who went on to become NCAA Division III All-Americans, national qualifiers, scholar-athletes, cadet Pan-American gold medalists, and Greco-Roman World Team Trials qualifiers. His influence extended far beyond the mat where he forged student athletes not only in skill, but also in confidence and character.
Gino had a deep love for animals, especially his cats and was known for his appreciation of wildlife – particularly river otters. He delighted in cheering for Pittsburgh’s professional sports teams, including the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins, as well as passionately supporting the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Michigan Wolverines in college football.
Gino is survived by his loving wife and soul mate Amanda (Morgan) Frank; his parents, Charles and Rosann (Langnecker) Frank; his sisters, Charla Fluent (Todd) and Laina Phillips; and his niece and nephews, Zachary, Rowan, Carson, Michael, Samuel, Anderson, and Grayson. He also leaves behind his cherished cats: Feebee, Francesca, Pouncey, and Roman.
He will always be remembered as a devoted husband and “cat dad,” a loyal family member, a committed coach, a dedicated teacher, and a sincere friend – fierce in his convictions, passionate in his pursuits, and generous in his love for others.
