Gerald L. "Gerry" Richwine

Gerald L. “Gerry” Richwine, 79, of Newville, passed away February 19, 2026, at Green Ridge Village.

Born July 26, 1946 in Carlisle, he was the son of the late Jesse L. and Ethel M. (Slothour) Richwine.

Gerry was a lifelong resident of the Cumberland Valley and was a 1964 graduate of Carlisle Area High School. Furthering his education, he attended Carlisle Commercial College, Shippensburg University, Penn State University, Bucknell University and enrolled in Willow Creek “Good Sense” seminars and Larry Burgett Financial Counselor Courses.

A career accountant, Gerry practiced in the areas of banking, manufacturing, construction, taxes and religious non-profit organizations. He owned and operated a bookkeeping, tax preparation and a personal finance business. He also served in many non-profit organizations in the Carlisle Area, serving roles as a treasurer, key leader and sometimes simply a worker bee.

Throughout his lifetime he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren.

Gerry is survived by his wife, Patricia A. (Kulp) Richwine; sons, Jason E. Richwine (Kelly), Matthew H. M. Richwine (Leah); daughter, Rebecca N. Richwine; sister, Nancy M. Shank (Carl); grandchildren, Joshua Richwine (Lindsey), Caleb Richwine (Jaye Rachel), Allyson Richwine, Zachary Richwine, Logan Fassl and Kaitlyn Fassl and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday February 26, 2026, at 3:30pm at Hoffman Funeral and Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Rd. Carlisle, PA 17013, with a visitation from 2pm until the time of the service.
