Gary Lee Schneider, 77, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on February 10, 2026.
Born in Harrisburg, PA, on September 16, 1948, Gary is the son of the late Doris Knisely.
Gary is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Fae (Barrick) Schneider. He is also survived by his children, Kimberly Smith (Jeff), Kristy Weldon (Matt), and Bryan Schneider (Angie), his step children, Keith Seibert (Michelle), Michelle Mallory (Todd), Nicole Holberg (Sean), his grandchildren, Gavin Smith, Aiden Smith, Kayla Weldon, Emma Weldon, Charlotte Schneider, and Connor Schneider, step grandchildren, Kyle Seibert, Chad Seibert, Derek Sisto, Zachary Holberg, Ashley Shindledecker, and Morgan Mellinger, his sisters, Cheryl Stouffer and Cindy Gladhill (Peg), as well as his best friend of over 50 years, Terry March, whom he considered a brother, and many nieces and nephews.
Gary is preceded in death by his mother, his brothers, Jody Schneider and Glenn Schneider, and his stepfather, Jim Lindenberger.
Gary graduated from West Perry High School in the class of 1967. He began working at Giant Food Stores at age 15 then went on to start working at Giant, and turned his part time job into where he worked his flourishing entire career spanning retiring as a District Manager up until retirement for over 46 years. He retired as a District Manager, overseeing many Giant Food locations throughout the area. He was a member of the Mechanicsburg Club, the Elks, and the Yellow Breeches Angler Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and tending to his vegetable garden. GaryHe was overall an avid outdoorsman and lovedand. He also enjoyed his going on hunting trips to West Virginia with his friend Terry, attending trout camp in Cross Forks, PA, and catching flounder in Ocean City, MD. Gary shared his love of hunting and fishing with family and friends, patiently passing on his knowledge and expertise. who he saw as a brother. He was also a sports enthusiast, a huge Penn State football fan, and thoroughly enjoyed loved attending his grandchildren's' sporting events and activities. He loved his family dearly.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 20th, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 11:00 a.m.
