Fred E. Zimmerman Sr.

Fred E. Zimmerman Sr., 74, of Newville, passed away January 11, 2026, at his home.

Born December 4, 1951, he was the son of the late Robert G. and Bena G. (Hocker) Zimmerman Sr. Fred was a 1969 graduate of Big Spring High School. He was employed as a forklift operator for over 30 years at Frey Communications before retiring.

Surviving Fred is his son; Fred E. Zimmerman Jr.; grandson; Peyton Zimmerman; siblings; Barry Zimmerman (Sandy), Bob Zimmerman (Paula), Dave Zimmerman (Peg), Jim Zimmerman (Suzy), John Zimmerman (Pam), Linda “Len” Diehl (Paul “Pickle”), Margaret Zimmerman, Richard Zimmerman (Anna Mae) and Sandy Thompson.

Fred was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing and especially the mountains. He was a lifetime member of the Carlisle Fraternal Order of Eagles #1299 and a member of Big Spring Fish & Game Inc.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Hoffman Funeral and Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Rd. Carlisle, PA 17013 at 3pm. There will be a viewing from 2pm until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
