Florence A. Malinish

Florence A. Malinish, of Carlisle, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024 at the Church of God Home, Carlisle at the age of 87. Born in Youngwood, PA, she was the daughter of the late Felicia (Sandusky) and Alfred J. Stinebiser, Sr. She was the loving wife of the late James E. Malinish, Sr. 

Florence was a longtime associate at Giant Corporate office in Carlisle. While at Giant she was a wonderful coworker and created lifelong friendships. She enjoyed attending Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Carlisle, as she was a longtime member. She and Jim were avid campers through the years and even traveled across the country in their RV after retirement. Her flowers and gardens were a sight to behold in the Boiling Springs home the children grew up in. Birdwatching and feeding birds was truly a passion for her. But what she truly held closest to her heart was her love of family that showed in all she did for each and every family member. She will be terribly missed. 

Surviving are her son James E. Malinish, Jr. (wife Lori), of Carlisle; daughters Michele Thrush (husband Larry), of Boiling Springs, and Melanie Messner (husband John) of Duncannon, PA. A sister, Jacquie Angelici (husband Dino) also survives her along with five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, her brother, Alfred J. Stinebiser, Jr. predeceased her. 

Prayer services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 18 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle with the Rev. Donald Bender officiating. A visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 18 at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
