Fern E. Gordon

Fern E. Gordon, 93, of Carlisle, died Saturday, January 3, 2026 at UPMC Carlisle.

Born in Carlisle, she was the daughter of the late Stuart and Mary (Barley) Weigle and the wife of the late Jay Gordon, who passed away in 1974.

Fern loved reading and doing word search puzzles and enjoyed flowers and bird watching. She also enjoyed going to restaurants, especially the Middlesex Diner on Saturday mornings.

She liked going to the beach but what gave her the most joy was gathering with family, especially around holiday times.

Survivors include her children: Barry (Diane) Gordon, Brenda Gilbert, Pamela (Jeff) Fair, Gary Gordon, Terry (Christina) Gordon; her grandchildren: Ryan (partner, Starr) Gordon, John (Jackie) Neal, Jacinta (Brion) Long, Amy (Brad) Ruhl, Aron (Nicole) Gossard, Peyton Gordon, Alexah Gordon, Elizabeth Gordon, Garison Gordon, Darrian Gordon, Bryson Gordon; her great grandchildren; Jayln, Keyerra, Kamryn, Makaylee, JJ, Collin, Kayla, Reagan, Harper, Gunnar, Campbell, Colt, Cash; her great great granddaughter, Haizleigh as well as her sister: Maryann Hays. She is also survived by Shari Lebo and Courtney Gossard.

In addition to her parents and husband, Fern was preceded in death by her son: Larry “Bo” Gordon, her grandchildren: Gwen Gordon and Jason Gossard and her brothers: Norman and John Weigle.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2026 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where the family will greet guests after 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle.
