Fay R. Finkey, age 88, of Dillsburg, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She was born February 11, 1930 in Carlisle to the late Tolbert and Ida (Smith) Murphy and was the widow of Donald E. Finkey, who passed January 4, 1997.
Fay retired from her longtime job as a housekeeper for the Sprint Corporation in Carlisle. She previously worked as a housekeeper at the Plaza Mall in Carlisle. Also, she worked at Sylvania Shoe Company in Mt Holly Springs. In her free time she enjoyed fishing in the Yellow Breeches and Conodoguinet Creeks, watching boxing, and reading up on United States history, especially the Presidents
She is survived by: her daughter, Laurie Frey (husband Michael) of Shippensburg; a brother, Patrick L. Murphy of Boiling Springs; and a sister, Fern M. Gutshall of Boiling Springs; as well as several beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Fay was preceded in death by: daughters, Cathy I. Finkey and Wendy K. Wirfel; two brothers, Timothy Q. Murphy and Terry C. Murphy; and a sister, Jane I. Myers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA, with Pastor Richard Black officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the St. Jude’s Childrens Research hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
