Edward W. Beck

Edward W. Beck, of Carlisle, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at his residence at the age of 63. Born in Woodbury, NJ, he was the son of the late Albert L. (Jr.) and Virginia Welch Beck.


Edward was a veteran of the United States Air Force, working as an aircraft body mechanic.

He worked as a warehouse worker for a local trucking company, later working for several years as a forklift operator for Old Dominion Freight Line in Carlisle.


Edward was an avid fan and participant of Carlisle area car shows and was a frequent attendee at events sponsored by the Williams Grove Historic Steam Engine Association. He also Collected comic books, enjoyed movies, was an avid reader, and enjoyed traditional country music. Edward loved attending the Lisburn Fair and was also a Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. He also enjoyed the companionship of his pet Chihuahua, Missy.


Edward is survived by a sister Judith McGinnis (husband William Sr.), of Marlton, NJ; two brothers, Dale E. Beck of New Jersey; and Dennis A. Beck (wife Ashley) of Woodbury, NJ. Additionally, he is survived by a sister-in-law Litsa and her daughters Virginia and Voula, along with several more nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Larry and Barry Beck predeceased him.


Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2023 in Letort Cemetery, 1198 Claremont Road, Carlisle, PA.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Edward's memory to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.


Services have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013.
