Edward C. Kaczor

Our beloved, Edward C. Kaczor , 99, passed away on August 20, 2026 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center. Born, May 16, 1927 in Ford City, Pennsylvania to Wincynty Kaczor and Franciska Kisiel. In his youth during the depression, he learned early to never take things for granted. If you want to succeed, you have to work hard. After high school graduation, he joined the US Navy and served on the USS South Dakota at the end of WWII. After his military service, he dedicated 42 years as a laborer for Pittsburgh Plate Glass, rarely missing a day of work. His passion for running was fueled by his love of junk food and soda pop! He enjoyed morning walks with his wife, fishing and canoeing at the Boiling Springs Children’s Lake with his grandchildren, and spending every summer at Ocean City, Maryland with family.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Josephine B. Kaczor. Surviving are his 5 children, Constance Smith, Frances Rosson, Patricia Bishop, Edward J. Kaczor and Rose Shehan. He was the “Best Pappy Ever” to 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.

Edward will be remembered for his fierce love and devotion for his family, his kind charitable heart and his fun wittiness. He loved to make people laugh and will be deeply missed.

A viewing will be held at Hoffman Funeral Homes at 10:00a.m. followed by a mass service of the Christian Burial at 11:00am. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Carlisle. To honor Edward’s devotion to Christianity, please consider a contribution to Saint Patrick’s Parish in lieu of flowers.
