Donna M. Beers

Donna M. Beers, 82, of Plainfield, went to Heaven peacefully on Monday, December 25, 2023, at Green Ridge Village.

Born and raised on a dairy farm in Bedford County, she was the devoted daughter of the late George and Marie (Clark) McCune.

She was a dedicated wife of the late Robert C. Beers, who passed away in 2020.

Donna graduated from Everett High School in 1959 and made a career for many years at IBM.

Donna is survived by her children: Deborah (Robert) Shughart, of Warfordsburg, David (Rachel) Beers, of York, Dr. Diane Beers, of Holyoke, Massachusetts, and her grandchildren: Benjamin Shughart, Thomas Shughart and Leigh Beers. She was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor Foor and her brother, Gerald McCune.

She kept her home surrounded by various colorful flowers in the Spring and Summer. Donna was such a big fan of paintings that turned her home into an art gallery. She loved and adopted many cats through the years and enjoyed the wildlife and natural beauty surrounding her home.

Donna was also a dedicated mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and talking to friends and family on the phone. She was the information center of the family. She was proud of her children and grandchildren.

Donna was always positive, optimistic, caring, and thoughtful. She never missed sending a birthday card and holiday card to every single family member. She gave everyone unconditional love and was dearly loved and much respected by all her family and friends. Donna will be deeply missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation Ltd., 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where the family will greet guests after 12:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
