RET. US Army Sergeant First Class Donald E. Davis, 80, of Carlisle, died Friday, August 16, 2024 at Shippensburg Health Center.

Born in Boston, Georgia, he was the son of the late Ray and Lottie (Spencer) Davis and the husband of 42 years to Marlies (Baumgartner) Davis.

Donald served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, retiring after 23 ½ years of service, obtaining the rank of Sergeant.

He enjoyed fishing and playing golf, especially at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Club.

In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his daughters: Staci Davis, Veronica Spencer, Davina Davis-Motter and Angelina St. Clair; his six grandchildren; his sister: Estelle Barru and his brother: John Thomas.

He was preceded in death by eight siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial service 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where the family will greet guests after 12 Noon. Interment will be held privately.
