Dolores M. Latsha, 98, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at UPMC Harrisburg.
Born in Dornsife, PA, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Lasitzkie) Reed and wife of the late Guy J. Latsha, who passed away in 2000.
Dolores began her working career at Rifkin’s Shirt Factory in Shamokin. After moving to Carlisle in 1951, she worked at Troy Laundry and Dry cleaning and retired from working at Reeves-Hoffman Company.
She was an amazing seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, sewing and knitting and making quilts and afghans. Dolores made a lot of gifts for friends during her days of sewing. She also collected thimbles and enjoyed baking pies and cakes.
Dolores was a member of Ladies Catholic Council of Women and worked in the St. Patrick School kitchen for 5 years.
Surviving is her son: John Latsha, his wife, Debra, of Lewisberry; her grandson: David Latsha, his wife, Angela, of Duncannon; her great grandchildren: Cadence and Brandt; her brother: Kenneth Reed, Danville as well as her three nieces and one nephew. A special thank you goes out to her niece, Barbara McLaren, for her help, especially in the years of Dolores’ decline.
She was preceded in death by her infant son of 3 days: Thomas and her siblings: Eleanor Kerstetter and Fred Reed.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am Monday, December 16, 2024, at St. Patrick Church, 87 Marsh Drive, Carlisle, PA 17015, where the family will greet guests after 10:00 am prior to the Mass. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Carlisle.
