Diane L. Schindler

Diane L Schindler, age 69, of Carlisle, PA passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday June 22, 2023. She was born in Oakland, California on June 1, 1954.

Diane loved sports, especially baseball and football, and could be found at the softball field supporting her daughter and teammates on any given night. She was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1299 in Carlisle, PA. She loved helping all the homeless felines in Carlisle and would attend the East Side Neighbors Association monthly meetings. Diane also loved being at the stream fishing and enjoying the drive-in movies with lifelong friend John Rinker. She loved her job at the Carlisle Army War College and supporting the troops. Diane graduated from Cedar Cliff High School in 1972. Diane especially cherished her time with her only granddaughter Reese.

She is survived by her daughter, Crystal L Miley (Schindler) and husband Corey of Carlisle; lifelong friend John Rinker of Carlisle; Granddaughter Reese B Miley; brother Charles (Chuck) Megonnell and various nieces and nephews.

In addition to her late parents, Olga Spadafore and Edward Schindler, Diane was preceded in death by brother Edward (Eddie) Schindler, sister Anna Mae Lucas and husband Darrell Lucas, and nephew Christopher Megonnell.

Memorial services will be held at a date announced later.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to any animal shelter to help control the animal populations and provide loving homes.
